The Development Belt along the Huangpu River
on the Bund: The 6.3-kilometer waterside line
along the Huangpu River on the Bund from the mouth of
the Suzhou Creek to the Jiangbian Road is the most vigorous
golden waterside line in Shanghai , with an area of 1.2
square kilometers.

The Huangpu District will adhere

By 2010, the district will basically form the modern industrial
structure mating with the modernized central city district,
the modernized city infrastructure system integrating itself
into the system of the whole city and the social undertaking
layout framework harmonious with economic development.

district product is expected to increase by an average
annual growth rate of 8-10% to reach 64-70 billion yuan
in 2010.
The district financial revenue is expected to increase
by an average annual growth rate of 10-12% to hit 6.2-6.8
billion yuan in 2010.
The total volume of retail sales of consumer goods is
expected to increase by an average annual growth rate of
5% to hit 38 billion yuan in 2010.
The domestic investment absorbed in the coming five years
will be accumulated to 25 billion yuan and the contracted
foreign direct investment absorbed in the coming five years
will be accumulated to US$ 1 billion.
The old housing demolished in the coming five years will
be accumulated to 1.38 million square meters.
The new jobs and the registered unemployed each year will
meet the target requirements of the municipal government.
